My biggest problem is trying to find those schools that might have some kind of access to financial aid programs. If you know of a site that might have some kind of "outline" that broaches this subject and might help me bring my search closer together, I would be extremely grateful.

I am sorry that you are having such a challenge to find your son the educational setting that he needs. Relative to finding a school that gives financial aid to students, I'm afraid that you are going to have to inquire at the particular school. We have a lot of schools that specialize in teaching the dyslexic kid here. I do think it is worth researching some of these schools and talking with the admissions person as they do want to help kids, and not just the wealthy ones.
Relative to scholarships in general, most of them are for kids attending college. You can find more information here.
It certainly sounds like you've got a good handle on ways to help your son. I do have a number of suggestions here relative to ways you can continue to support him at home, in particular fostering his strengths and interests.
