Entrepreneur calls his dyslexia a unique advantage

Growing up, Hornell was forced to jump from school to school in search of somewhere that could support him. He felt as if the schools were not equipped to teach children with dyslexia. His challenges eventually led him to drop out of school. He later graduated as a mature student from an independent school in Vancouver that supports students with language-based learning disabilities: Fraser Academy. He claims his experiences there changed his life.

Hornell now advocates for more support in schools for students with learning disabilities. As an entrepreneur, he founded a moving company in high school called “Moving Up Inc”. Hornell is now the President of his family’s company, Sonray Sales Ltd.
