Minnesota parents lobby for kids at 'Dyslexia Day' at State Capitol

Just this month, a group of parents and educators rallied together in Minnesota's Capitol Rotunda to raise attention to the needs of the dyslexic community as well as the deficit in resources directly plaguing a multitude of students. Many expressed their frustration over the lack of understanding and trained staff to address dyslexics but hope came in the form of lawmakers pledging to push funding for such efforts and legislators feeling the pressure from constitutents. Although the road to more substantial support remains long and winding, children and their families remain at the forefront of the fight and are not planning to slow down anytime soon.
