DyslexiaHelp has a wonderful gift for you!
We now have over 80 audiobook titles to offer for free, from Dickens to Dr. Seuss; classic pieces of literature such as Treasure Island, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Peter Pan; as well as listens by contemporary authors such as Roald Dahl, Judy Blume, Laura Hillenbrand, and HG Wells.
Thanks to the generosity of Penguin Random House Audio Publishing, these unabridged audiobooks are available FREE on CD for your listening enjoyment. There are also three classics available as digital downloads.
Audiobooks provide an excellent opportunity for dyslexics to access text that may be above their reading level—but not above their language level. Audiobooks are a way to ensure that dyslexic students have access to the same curricular content as their peers. Listening to audiobooks (and reading along with the text if possible) helps build vocabulary (i.e., word knowledge) and "world" knowledge, both of which are very important to reading comprehension and learning.
