Being Prepared

Many parents find it helpful to write a letter to their IEP team prior to the meeting. This is an opportunity for your school team to learn about your hopes for and concerns about your child. It also helps the team prepare to address your needs before the meeting.

We have developed an outline of a letter [1] should you choose to write one to your child’s IEP team. Thinking about your questions and your child’s needs ahead of time and communicating that to the school team will help set the stage for a positive outcome.
