Chris Heald, a fifth-year senior with the U-M men’s varsity wrestling team in 2015, was one of four wrestlers at U-M to be named as Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar Award recipients. 57 University of Michigan student-athletes received the prestigious honor in 2015. Chris, a Physical Education major in the U-M School of Kinesiology, had to be a letterwinner in at least his second academic year and keep a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 for the previous academic year. In spite of his dyslexia, Heald achieved Academic All Big Ten honors for four of his five years at U-M, as well as two U-M Academic Athletic Achievement awards.
