Who among us hasn’t rooted for Indiana Jones as he ran to avoid being crushed by a giant boulder, gasped at the thought of great white sharks or dinosaurs plaguing society, or teared up as we watched E.T. fly home?
There’s no doubt about it, Steven Spielberg has made amazing contributions to the world of film.
Besides Indiana Jones, Jaws, Jurassic Park, and E.T., he’s also directed emotional thrillers such as Amistad, Saving Private Ryan, Minority Report, and many more.
Spielberg didn’t always think he would be as successful as he has become. Spielberg daydreamed his way through school, and always felt disconnected from his peers because he couldn’t always keep up due to his dyslexia. He struggled with math and eventually dropped out of college.
Luckily, Spielberg was able to turn his daydreams into the wonders we see on the screen today. He not only refused to let his dyslexia slow him down, but he also turned it into his greatest advantage.
