To review the many topics relating to dyslexia, the researchers performed a systematic review of different electronic and text databases to gather information. Some of these databases include PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and LILACS. The researchers gathered information on a variety of dyslexia-related topics including different learning processes, perspectives on dyslexia, diagnosis and treatment of dyslexia, as well as dyslexia in the context of school.
Overall, the review led the researchers to suggest that developmental dyslexia is a result of a variety of factors. They propose the use of continued studies to promote concrete, early, and effective treatments for those at risk for reading difficulties.
