Has your child ever dreamed of going to space? An online-based project called Storytime from Space lets kids get an inside look at what it’s like inside the International Space Station while also building literacy skills. Astronauts from diverse backgrounds read popular books aloud that are then uploaded to the Story Time from Space website and YouTube. This combination of literacy and science lets children listen and learn more about the STEM field from home. The short books are carefully chosen by the organizers and then are adequately cleaned and prepared for takeoff. Not only do children get to listen to the engaging books read by inspirational people, but they also get to see what it’s like to live in space.
