Stephanie Ruhle was not diagnosed with dyslexia until it was suggested she should get tested after her son was diagnosed with dyslexia. She had to work harder to get through school and succeed in her career, but she did not let that stop her. In school, due to her low reading comprehension, she would get teachers to let her give presentations instead of taking tests. She credits this as the reason she was able to do well in school without intervention. When starting her career, she started as a researcher in the finance industry. Ms. Ruhle quickly realized that she did not want to stay in research due to the large amount of reading required, so she worked extra hard to switch into sales. After moving up the ranks quickly in sales, she moved to being a political interviewer.

Stephanie Ruhle now has her own show The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle where she interviews top politicians in the U.S. like Kamala Harris. Due to her dyslexia, Stephanie Ruhle does not rely on the teleprompter because she struggles to read it. Instead, she writes flash cards and spends lots of time going over them and memorizing the talking points and questions she wants to ask. Stephanie Ruhle says that this helps her when interviewing because she is asking the questions when looking and listening to the person she is interviewing instead of focusing on the teleprompter.
