I’ve developed a growing interest in dyslexia and was wondering if you could give me, someone used to reading research papers and technical books on linguistics and psycholinguistics, any book suggestions to deepen my knowledge of dyslexia.

Dr. Pierson’s Response

I would recommend David Kilpatrick’s book Essentials of Dyslexia Assessment and Intervention. I recently heard him speak last week and find him really smart, mindful, and spot on.

I recommend Dr. Sally Shaywitz’s book Overcoming Dyslexia (2020). Although written for parents, I think someone new to the field of dyslexia would find it informative.

I have a number of other good books here. Authors whom I particularly like are Henry, Moats, and Wolf.
