Recently, several articles have surfaced claiming that ChromaGen colored lenses have been approved by the FDA for the treatment of dyslexia. The lenses have indeed been approved to aid in the treatment of visual problems, but they have not been approved to treat dyslexia.
It is true that some individuals with dyslexia may also have some vision problems, but dyslexia is not in itself a vision problem. Dyslexia is a language-based problem that requires systematic language-based intervention.
It is important to note that while individuals may have learning disabilities as well as visual difficulty, one does not cause the other. This means that treating one will not improve the other.
