Most students with dyslexia are not confident in an academic setting. This can lead to a poor self-concept and to a sense of pessimism about one’s self as a learner, school, and the future. This does not have to be the case. By definition, students with dyslexia have average to above-average IQs, but they have not had the chance to tap into their inherent strengths. And, one of those areas of strength can be in visual learning and thinking.
